The Country Club 8x10 Art Print
The Country Club. The Italianate raised center hall cottage that houses the famous Bywater pool club was built in 1884. Since its creation, the home was a residence, a boarding house for travelers, and even a dispatch hub for taxis. The pool was built in the summer of 1977 by the new owners, and founders of The Country Club - Douglas Williams, Daniel Wilson, and Gary Clay.
The club had changed hands many times over the years since its inception, and the rules have shifted from clothing optional to clothing on. But the club still holds to its roots as a gay resort and haven, hosting a damn good drag brunch and making all feel welcome.
